Makeover Your Living Room In 24 Hours
You’ve been putting this off for a while, your living room is in need of a total makeover. The afternoon comes and then you receive a phone call from your in-laws, they are coming to visit from out of town! You have no idea on what to do but you need to update the room quick! This article will help you decorate your living room without having to spend too much money.
When you are done your in-laws will be impressed and you will finally have finished redecorating the room that has been needing it for months.
Paint a Wall
No, engaging in hours of hard work painting the entire living room isn’t necessary. Choose a single wall, and paint it an intense color that blends with your present accents. It can be amazing to see how much depth this small task put into a room. The room will get a great burst of color and a little added warmth.
Can’t Afford New Furniture?
If you need new furniture but do not have the means for it, try investing in some nice slipcovers. For the sofa, keep the slipcover one solid color, and then introduce accent pillows that will bring out the color of the wall you have just painted. Is there a boldly patterned throw around? Causally toss it over the back of the sofa, or a rocking chair or recliner.
Consider moving the furniture away from the walls. Move it into an intimate, cozy and welcoming arrangement. Center an area rug that includes the colors of the room in the middle of the grouping.
Clear the Clutter
Clutter makes a room look disorganized and diminishes the size of the room. The size of the room can be visually increased by simply removing clutter from the floor, furniture and tabletops. The room will look much better with its cleaner and more organized look. Place no more than three items on the top of any one table, as a simple general rule.
Now, take it a little further by adding bursts of color to the walls. Also, hang prints with simple designs that coordinate or contrast with the other colors of the room. Using only up to three colors will add interest without over complicating things. Fresh flowers in a big vase will be a nice addition to the room, and top it all off with a warmly scented candle. You have a newly updated living room as quick as a flash.
