One of these six star hotel accommodations is the Italian hotel Westin Excelsior, situated in Rome. The Westin has a restaurant you will never forget where they server traditional Italian dishes, a conference room if you are on a business trip and many other relaxation facilities.Each room has a phone, air conditions, Jacuzzi, satellite TV and mini-bars. Looking for inexpensive hotel close to downtown San Francisco.?
I am booked at Travelodge at Market Street, but I am unsure about hotel quality and facilities. Any experienced person could help ? Suggestions ? Planned arrival on September 15th.
Jim K, thank you for the advice regarding Travelodge location! I am aware that there are non-recommended spots in SF.
If I can ask, can someone help me in clarifying the non-recommended neiborhoods in SF ? I was in SF once, but this was 20 years ago.
What I am looking for is a balance between inexpensive price ( below $80 ) and location close to Fisherman's Wharf. Is this possible ? ;o)

I recommend that you look at the Beresford Arms. It's between Nob Hill and Union Square, pretty convenient to the Financial District. When my ex and I lived in S.F. (I'm still in the area, but across the GG Bridge), we had friends stay there a few times. Clean, reasonable and a good location. Hope that it hasn't changed. I would advise against the Travelodge on Market Street simply because of the location. NOT a good part of town. Also just remembered the Andrews Hotel. If you have time, go to see "Beach Blanket Babylon". It's one of those "only in San Francisco" shows and great time for everybody. Welcome...just don't call it Frisco!
